How to Resurface a Countertop with Concrete

ShareThis

You just can't beat the look and longevity of a concrete countertop.  While many things in your home are easily coated like the walls, floors, or outdoor patio, why not your countertops?

Until a short while ago coutertops were covered, wrapped in a new 'shell' or completely replaced, but that has all changed with the advent of systems like EzTop Countertop Resurfacing.

You can get a completely new look out of your existing structurally sound countertop by resurfacing it with a thin cement overlay.  The beauty of using a cement based system is that you can create a number of different looks with concrete that include, stone, marble, granite or even wood.  The EzTop system is designed to make refinishing your countertop easy.

Here is a quick overview of how EzTop is installed. - The system includes a step by step video DVD.

  • Prepare the surface by cleaning and abrading it with sandpaper to get the product to stick.
  • Apply a primer adhesion coat
  • Apply a second bond coat
  • Apply the first cement coat
  • Apply a second cement coat (third coat may be desired for your finish of choice.)
  • Seal to the desired shine and finish level
  • Let cure and its ready for use.

EzTop will have you enjoying your new countertops by the end of the weekend.  Everything you will need comes in the kit.
