Like many in the decorative concrete world, Dan Bishop discovered decorative concrete while in another field. While running a janitorial business, Bishop first saw decorative concrete and he fell in love with it and became determined to learn how to do it.
Eventually, Bishop began offering decorative concrete as part of his services before, eight years ago, he opted to concentrate on decorative concrete full-time, launching Modern Crete Concrete Design.

In addition to diamond polished concrete, Bishop and his team also provide interior floors, concrete overlays systems, concrete engraving, concrete countertops and accessories, acid staining, concrete sealing, and custom scoring.
While Modern Crete Concrete Design serves both residential and commercial clients, the majority of their work is providing commercial clients with diamond polished concrete. 
Like many businesses today, Bishop understands the importance of being environmentally friendly and using green products.
“We approach all projects with a “green” mindset,” Bishop says. “We are very conscious of our fragile environment and take all steps possible to provide environmentally friendly projects.”
As a result of their efforts to go green, Modern Crete Concrete Design uses, when available, environmentally-friendly products. For example, instead of using acid stains, they’re making the move to water-based eco-stains that are more environmentally friendly.
“The raw materials used in concrete are abundant,” Bishop notes, “making it a sustainable building material and an integral part of a successful “Green Building” program.”
Certified installers of HTC Superfloor, Modern Crete Concrete Design also uses ChemicoStain and SherCrete products.
While Modern Crete Concrete Design doesn’t offer a written warranty, Bishop guarantees all of the work that they do and points out that products can have a lifespan of five to 20 years, depending on varying factors.
“Quality is the backbone of our company,” Bishop, who secures the majority of his business through Internet advertising, says. “So, we make sure the quality is high.”
