ShareThisDanny Bird, owner of Super Diamond Floors, has a simple goal when conducting business: To provide complete customer satisfaction by customizing his products to meet the customers’ perception of what they want and to provide a product that will exceed his clients’ expectations.
Since Super Diamond Floors, a full service decorative concrete company, opened its doors three years ago, that business philosophy has helped Bird build a loyal clientele, many of whom were referred to him from other satisfied clients.
Bird’s foray into decorative concrete was a natural one. He spent 14 years working for a paint company, doing industrial coatings, when he first discovered polished concrete.
“When I saw the first polished concrete,” Bird says. “I knew this was it.”
Bird has been working with decorative concrete ever since.
Super Diamond Floors, which works with both residential and commercial clients on interior and exterior concrete designs, specializes in showroom floors for retail paint stores and retail stores. In fact, early on in the business, Bird secured a contract with a paint company to complete all of their floors in their new stores.
Among the decorative concrete products Super Diamond Floors offers are polished concrete, full rock exposure, epoxies, concrete overlays, and polished concrete floors.
Bird opts to use a combination of products when he installs decorative concrete. His top choice for concrete overlays is SherCrete, and he’s also interested in trying Model Crete for future installations.
While Bird guarantees all of his work, he doesn’t put that guarantee in writing. “If a customer calls me with a problem, we’ll take care of it,” Bird says. “We’re such a little company that we don’t want to have issues. We did the paint store floors a little over a year ago and we’re still monitoring those floors.”
In the three years that Super Diamond Floors has been in business, Bird has worked with numerous clients, all memorable, but several jobs stand out as his favorite. One of those jobs was for architect Mark Stewart.
“He wanted a very vibrant, dark English red and it was kind of a challenge. I figured out how to do it with a reacting material and it came out as one of the most beautiful acid stained floors I’ve ever seen,” Bird says. “He even asked us to repeat that in his new office.”
Another of Bird’s favorite jobs was working with Miller Paint Company, providing polished concrete.
“We did a polished concrete full exposure. It was a new slab, so we had a little rock put into it. It’s beautiful and it’s as flawless as I’ve seen. It’s very unique. We used our chemical process to embed it in to the concrete.”
